Big Shot Blog Hop: Beautiful Butterflies

Welcome to the Stampin' Addicts Big Shot Blog Hop! This hop sure has come at a fabulous time with Stampin' Up! offering all new demos a FREE Big Shot! If you have any questions about how to get your very own Big Shot for FREE, ask any one on this hop or your demo! I'm sure any of them will be more than happy to help you out! The hop will be up through Sunday so feel free to take your time and enjoy each and every project!

If you are following the hop in order you just came from Debra's blog, Heartfelt Inkspiration and the Petal Cone die. Didn't she create some marvelous projects? Well, if you are starting the hop here that great! The blogs on this hop are all linked together so you can start anywhere and find your way around. If you would happen to get lost you can always go to Stampin' Addicts HERE and find your way around.

On to my projects! I chose to use the Beautiful Butterflies die for my creations. I just love butterflies and had more ideas than time! I'm hoping to be able to create some of the other projects when life slows down...so that may be never! This first project is a card that I had made my own embossing "plate".

This next project is a butterfly bobby pin. I found the bobby pins at a big box craft store. They have a flat surface to adhere the butterfly too. This came out a little dark and not quite how I wanted it to so I'm going to try it again and see if I can get the ink to be lighter. Yes, it's that dark in real life too!

My third project is a beautiful box using the Top Note die and the Beautiful Butterflies die. It was a really easy box to make, especially with the new Simply Scored tool that Stampin' Up! came out with! I'm going to use this box as a gift so I stamped "Praying for You" because I wanted my friend to know that I'm praying for her every time she sees or uses this box.

My last project is a double page layout. I'm not a big scrapbooker. I am working on it and trying to do more! I saw on Stampin' Connections, this is an online community open to demonstrators, a page that used the butterfly wings as the spooky eyes and had to try my hand at it. I'm sure that if you saw her pages, you would know that I didn't totally CASE this but there are a lot of similarities.

I hope you enjoyed my creations using the Beautiful Butterflies die and that you now NEED to go purchase it! Come back next week to get the "how did you do that" and the recipes for each of these projects as well as a few more close up shots of each one! You are now off to see what Twila has done with the Two Tags die at Stamp A Little Longer. I'm willing to bet that you will NEED that die too!

Happy Stampin'!
Shelley

Shelley, your projects are stunning! The Top Note box is so beautiful, but if I had the hair for it, I'd love that bobby pin!

Love the bobby pin!! Love the box too. I don't do halloween at all, but the eyes are kewl, would make a neat owl face/mask.

Love the box you made for your friend - what a special treasure to receive! And the bobby-pin idea is one I want to try (hadn't heard of that type of bobby pin!). The SB page is precious. What a cute idea to use the wings for spooky eyes. (I so need to try scrapbooking!)
