March Club Projects

As I stated in an earlier post, I have been absolutely swamped with life right now! I'm a little behind in getting things posted to my blog. I know that you can't get these stamps or paper any longer but I still wanted to show you what we created at my club meeting in March. Some of these stamps and paper are from Stampin' Up!'s Sale-a-bration that finished the end of March. I'm have room for another member or two to my club, are you interested? Send me an email or a phone call and I'll hook you up!

This card too a little to get it to the final look but I love the way this one turned out! Abi helped pick out colors again! I love that she has such an eye for colors. She likes to help pick them out too! We used the rock 'n' roll technique to get the darker edges on the main design.

Stamps: Bliss
Ink: Regal Rose, Bravo Burgundy
Cardstock: Regal Rose, Old Olive, Bravo Burgundy, Whisper White

The last project was a mini pizza box. I had never made one of these before and it was a lot of fun. I think I may have to make a few more. The paper that makes the flower and the ribbon is Ice Cream Parlor that was only available during Sale-a-bration.

Birthday Fun Scrapbook Pages

Here is the other set of pages that we created at my scrapbooking night a couple of weeks ago. This was CASEd and then tweaked a little from Kay Kalthoff. You can see her's on her blog here. I added a few more balloons and hidden journaling blocks. The tabs towards the bottom of the pages is where the journaling blocks go. I loved the banner for the title and kept Kay's colors because I knew that they would work for a boy or a girl!

Here's a close up of the left page.

And a close up of the right page.

Merry Christmas! -- March installment

As you know, I have joined a group of ladies on Stampin' Addicts that are encouraging each other to create Christmas cards before they are needed! I typically go through about 150 Christmas cards! My husband is a pastor and we give cards to the active people in our congregation! We do have a few friends and family too. This is why I have decided to create 16 cards each month so that I will have enough and not stress come December! These are the cards that I made for March.

Stamps: Season of Joy
Ink: Purely Pomegranate, Garden Green
Cardstock: Purely Pomegranate, Garden Green, Crumb Cake, Whisper White
Accessories: Purely Pomegranate satin ribbon, Garden Green marker, 5-petal punch,
corner rounder punch, More Mustard marker, dimensional

Here's a close up of one of them!
Yes that is Purely Pomegranate! I LOVED this color when it was an In Color and I think I hoarded a few sheets of this color! I have been trying to use up some of my retired colors. This is a great way to use them too!

Robert's Confirmation Invites

There is a story behind this set of cards! I knew that I had to make Confirmation invitations for my daughter and the neighbor's son (she asked me a LOOOONG time ago to make them) so I wanted to get started on them, especially since Joy needed 76 of them! I asked Joy (my neighbor and friend) what colors she was looking for in these invites. She told me to go with blue and yellow as that is Robert's school colors. I created this card first.

Stamps: Crosses of Hope
Ink: Bayou Blue
Cardstock: Bayou Blue, Whisper White
Accessories: Ticket corner punch, sponge, crop-a-dile,
silver eyelets, Bayou Blue DSP

When I was done, I didn't really like it. It felt like something was missing. Thanks to several online friends I added some yellow to help feel complete.

Stamps: Crosses of Hope, Graceful Words
Ink: Bayou Blue, So Saffron
Cardstock: Bayou Blue, Whisper White, So Saffron
Accessories: Ticket corner punch, sponge, oval punches,
crop-a-dile, silver eyelets, dimensionals, Bayou Blue DSP

While I liked this card, it now felt more feminine then I wanted it to! After all these are for a 13/14 year old boy! So I went with another suggestion from an online friend and made a pull out card.

Stamps: Crosses of Hope, Graceful Words
Ink: So Saffron, Bayou Blue
Cardstock: Bayou Blue, So Saffron, Whisper White
Accessories: Ticket corner punch, sponges, corner rounder punch,
tab punch, ribbon border punch, Bayou Blue DSP

I showed Joy both cards. Her husband and her liked the pull out better (me too!). I started talking with Joy about how many she needed and she wasn't sure of the blue. Their school colors are a true blue so she asked if Robert could come and pick out colors. Told her not a problem!

Stamps: Crosses of Hope, Graceful Words
Ink: Basic Black, Real Red, Whisper White
Cardstock: Basic Black, Whisper White, Real Red
Accessories: Ticket corner punch, corner rounder punch,
ribbon border punch, tab punch, sponge

Like what Robert picked out? So much for the blue and yellow!

Abi's Confirmation Invite

My oldest daughter, Abigail, will be confirmed this May. When she picked out colors for her invitations, she went right to several colors that are now retired! She also picked out which cross she wanted from Crosses of Hope stamp set. I like the way this card turned out. It feels very feminine and perfect for a confirmation invite! I made 60 of these, now I need to get them in the mail!

Stamps: Crosses of Hope
Ink: Green Galore
Cardstock: Whisper White, Pink Passion
Accessories: Framed tulips embossing folder, organza ribbon,
iridescent ice embossing powder
