Above the Clouds

I'm working on using my stamp sets that are retiring that haven't seen ink yet. You may have noticed that all the cards and scrapbook pages that I have shared recently are on the retiring list. This set and coordinating punch are also on the list.

I seem to purchase every hot air balloon set that Stampin' Up! has come up with. I'm not sure why I'm attracted to them as I have NO desire to take a ride in one. I am not a fan of heights and the idea of being in a basket with just a balloon keeping me in the air is not my idea of fun and yet I buy these sets! Hmm...

I created a sunset in the background of these balloons using my inks and sponges. I started at the bottom of the die cut with Blushing Bride. Then added Calypso Coral and finally Terracotta Tile. I water colored the blue balloon. Want to know why? Well, I didn't look at the set closely and was stamping in a hurry. I didn't realize there was a solid image to color the balloon in! Oh well!

Blushing Bride clouds add just the right touch to make you feel like you are a mile high!

I used the Blends to color these balloons in. Remember, I didn't realize there was a stamp! Could have saved myself some time by just looking! I did some masking on this card. I punched the balloon out of copy paper and laid it over the stamped balloons on my project. Then I stamped the clouds. That is why it looks like the balloons are going through the clouds.

I made a set of scrapbook pages that I will be sharing tomorrow. Come back and see!

Wiggle Worm

This adorable set is sooo cute! The little bugs are so delightful! I think the colors I chose for this set makes it even more of a delight. I was surprised to see these cuties on the retiring list. They were new to the catalog and I thought for sure they would hang around for another yet. But, alas, I was wrong and had to bust them out and play with them before they are gone from our line up.

I used the Buffalo Check background to simulate a tablecloth and to create a fabulous background for these guys.

I chose the colors Granny Apple Green, Pacific Point and Pineapple Punch to compliment these charming critters. The bright colors keep these bugs playful.

I wanted to create a background of a wiggle worm so I stamped the worm many times with Pineapple Punch ink on Pineapple Punch card stock. The leave die cut is so adorable!

All four of my girls were called wiggle worm at one point or another. They wouldn't sit still very long when I needed them to or they would just fight to do their own thing. I guess we all fall in to that way of life at some point.

To create this background I embossed the leaves on the Pineapple Punch card stock. Then I took my Pineapple Punch ink pad and lightly brushed it across the embossing. Then I took my Granny Apple Green ink pad and very lightly brushed it across the embossed edges.

Now, I need to send these cards to a couple of kiddos that are cute as a bug!
