Cross Country 2

Here is that other cross country layout! I have been thinking about this layout. You might be able to use it for dirt bike racing or a new car. The path in the middle of the layout could be a road. Anyway, I will be adding cross country pictures to my pages. Remember cross country is run in the fall for high school and it is typically run in grass, paths and woods. Track is in the spring and run in ovals on a track. My girls are adamant about these differences. They really aren't track runners, although, Miriam has been doing track this spring as well as soccer.

I'm not sure if you can see it but I stamped the line of trees from Lovely as a Tree on the Early Espresso background. I used sponges to add the texture to the path way.

The wavy base on these pages were just free hand cut, as well as the path. I don't have a template for either.

I'm so excited that the new catalog has all the colors available in 12x12! You have to buy them in family colors but just to have them all available again is so excited about it!

Cross country 1

I love this layout and I will be using it again!! It's so simple and packs a punch! I used a base color, Chocolate Chip. Then I cut strips of 3 other colors (Old Olive, So Saffron, and Sahara Sand) and added them to the base. The right side of this layout is just turned on its side.

I have 4 girls that have all run cross country. I added the CC to the upper left corner on this page to title it for cross country. Cross country is run in the woods and on paths, not tracks, that is why I added the tree to the lower left of this page.

Adding some leaves to the left side of the green adds a soft touch. I also made sure to have a journaling square to add the information on the pictures that will be added to the pages.

I have another cross country layout to share tomorrow. It's not as easy as this layout and may not be as easy to convert to another subject but it is still a fun set of pages! Come back to see those too!

High tide part 2

Did you see yesterday's cards? While I had the papers, inks, card stocks, and stamps out, I created a few more cards. These are a bit more detailed.

This first one uses the Seaside embossing folder on the Night of Navy piece to get it more texture. I also add some Night of Navy bakers twine.

I created a small scene on this card. I love how it feels like the birds are flying over the water of outside of the white oval.

To create texture on this card, I took the Smoky Slate card stock and crumbled it and then flattened it again to adhere it to the card. I also tore the Night of Navy to give it the rough edges instead of straight edges. I added the silver thread behind the main image.

So many fun ways to add texture on this blog post! Which are you going to try today?

Happy Stampin!
