Happy Grad and Pomp & Circumstance

As I shared yesterday, we were invited to a number of graduations, both high school and college. I made many graduation cards this year. I did the same layout for each card but changed the colors to match the school colors of the graduate. I love that about making my own cards! I can adjust the colors to my needs.

Graduation cards

One of the teachers at Shoreland Lutheran High School asked me make him some cards for graduation. He said he couldn't find any that didn't cost a bunch and he wanted to be able to give the graduates a card. So I pulled Basic White, Basic Black and Crushed Curry from my shelves and got busy. My plan was to keep these pretty simple. All my graduation stamps are retired but maybe you will have them or something close that you can recreate or find inspiration for your needs.

I started with Thick Basic White cardstock and layered it with Basic Black. On the slightly smaller layer of Crushed Curry, I stamped the graduation cap from Pomp & Circumstance. three times and the congratulations with Memento ink.

The card base is Crushed Curry and I stamped the graduation hat on it. I embossed a piece of Smoky Slate with Hammered embossing folder. The Happy Graduation stamp is a single, wood mount stamp from a few years ago.

Another simple card with layers of die cuts from Stitched So Sweetly and the Crushed Curry was embossed with Tasteful Textile.

My friend was thrilled to have some cards to share with his students and I was happy to help him! It's fun to create and to help others.

Graduation 2021

I have shared with you all that my third daughter graduated this spring. I didn't share the invitations that I had made for her party. Lydia wants to become an airline pilot. When I remembered that I had the stamp set called Sky is the Limit, I knew that I had to use it to make Lydia's invitations. The graduation hat comes from the set Pomp & Circumstance and the word "graduation" is from Well Said. She loved them!

I used Sky is the Limit for Lydia's thank you's as well. I added World Map background stamp too. I used the blending brushes on the World Map so that there was more color on it. I also brushed some Crushed Curry on the oval with the plane on it. Now I have to get Lydia to finish writing these out!

I held on to this set because Miriam and Lydia both went to an aviation camp for a week. I wanted to be able to scrapbook some of their pictures so I couldn't let this set go. yet. I may have to find some time to create those pages for the girls!

Many of the supplies for these two cards are retired but you can still click on the pictures below to head to my online store to shop for other supplies.
