Hello Friend

Sale-a-bration is a fantastic time of the year! Free goodies is always the best time of the year! The sale-a-bration offerings are super fantastic.  This post is featuring one of the bundles that you could pick as free. at the $100 level.

The bright colors of this paper helps get me in the mood for spring. Not that I need much help for that! I'm ready for some warm weather, sun shine, heat and soccer! but I digress. This first card is made with Fresh Freesia as the main color. The designer series paper is from the Friendly Hello paper pack. The flower were stamped on watercolor paper and heat embossed with white embossing powder. I then spritz the flowers so that you could see water standing in the image. I placed a couple of drops of re-inker in the lid of my Fresh Freesia ink pad and picked some of that color up with a water painter. I touched the color to the image and watched as the color seeped through out the image. I repeated with the leaves and Granny Apple Green. I did fussy cut them all out and added them to my card. The re-ink spread technique can be seen HERE as a replay of my Facebook Live. Watch now!

Color & Contour

I know I don't normally post on Saturdays. I missed Tuesday and I have so many posts just waiting to be written up and shared that I really wanted to get this out to you too. So here I am on Saturday!

This flower looks like a daisy to me. I also loved the greetings in this set so home it came. The Fresh Freesia card base and the gingham paper makes this card feel like spring should be here! I'm ready. I'm not a winter girl and am ready for the heat and humidity of summer. The flowers were stamped and then die cut. The centers were colored with Daffodil Delight blends and Wink of Stella added. The leaves were stamped and then colored with Soft Succulent. The leaves were fussy cut. No die for them, bummer. The greeting looks much darker in this picture than in real life. It really is Highland Heather.

Frosted Gingerbread

Another retired set on display today. This one just retired in early January. It's called Frosted Gingerbread. This was available as a suite. The suite included the stamp set, the dies, designer series paper, ribbon, and decorative masks. I was really hoping this one would hang around a bit longer but, alas, we don't always get what we want.

Soft Suede is the base for this card. Before I added a strip of the designer series paper that had the sheer red ribbon tied around it, I stamped the beautiful border stamp with Soft Suede ink. The ornament was stamped, die cut, and added to the layers of circles with dimensionals. The rhinestones were colored with Real Red blend markers. To make the tail end of the greeting, I used my paper snips. Cut a small length up the middle of the cardstock. Then line up the top of the cut with the corner and snip that triangle off. Repeat on the other side.

Counting Sheep Scrapbook Pages

These sheep and their coordinating dies were available during Sale-a-bration this past summer. I thought they were just too cute and had to make some scrapbook pages with them.

The sheep from Counting Sheep were stamped with Memento ink and then die cut. The fence is also part of the Sheep dies. These pieces and the title were adhered with dimensionals. The 12 x12 cardstock is Pool Party with Highland Heather as the photo mates. The title is covered with some Wink of Stella.

A couple more sheep and a fencing piece adorn this page. The designer series paper is from the hostess only pack of paper called Pattern Party. I also die cut the banner with the Stitched Triangle dies and covered them with Wink of Stella.  The sheep have a bit of Smoky Slate on their faces and their legs. The black & white gingham ribbon is the perfect touch for these pages.

No matter the stamp set, you can make scrapbook pages with it. It is a fun challenge for me. I like to find a sketch and then add my own colors and accents, making the pages mine.

The supplies for these pages are listed below and you can purchase them by clicking on the pictures.

Nothing's Better Than

How much fun is this stamp set? It was introduced almost 2 years ago with a coordinating die set. If you are a coffee, chocolate or cocktail loving person, you might want to look closer at this set and dies.

I will admit to being a chocolate-aholic so this set spoke to me. The stamp set is a 2-step set, meaning that the outline is one stamp and the insides are another stamp, giving you chance to color in without having to color. Perfect for those that don't like coloring.

The background is called the crinkled background. You can watch the replay of my Facebook live where I created this card HERE to see how to do the crinkled background. To do this technique, start with a piece of Basic White cardstock. Crinkle it up. Yep, wad it up in a loose ball. Flatten it out a bit and then take an ink pad and drag it across this cardstock so that the peaks of the cardstock collect the ink. Wad the cardstock up again, this time into a tighter ball. Flatten it out and drag a darker color across it this time. I used Bermuda Bay and Early Espresso for this card.

Forever Fern

The Forever Fern stamp set is such a phenomenal set! The leaves are very realistic looking and can be used for masculine and feminine, birthday and sympathy, thinking of you and Christmas and so much more. Pair it up with a greeting set, change the colors you use and you have everything you need to complete a year's worth of cards!

I have a very neutral palette for these cards. The card base is Crumb Cake. The darker layers are Early Espresso. The leaves were stamped with Crumb Cake ink and the speckles with Early Espresso. The labels are from the Hippo & Friends dies. This is a fantastic set of dies, even if you don't use them with the coordinating stamp set. So many great labels in this set of dies.

Christmas Ornaments

I adore homemade Christmas ornaments. I enjoy the challenge every year to see what I can make that year. I will admit that I actually made these over a year ago. There was always something more pressing to post so these sat in the drafts for a very long time. It is time for them to see the light of day! YEAH!!

I purchased some mini grapevine wreaths from Oriental Trading. I stamped, color and die cut the cardinal and branches. I die cut extras of them too so that I could cover the back where you can see the ink bleed through the cardstock. I adhered them to the grapevine wreath with the Multi-purpose liquid glue. I'm happy to say that they are still holding quite nicely over a year later. I added a hanger to the top and a bow.

I made one of these on a Facebook Live last year. You can see that replay HERE if you desire.

Gorgeous Leaves Fall Scrapbook Pages

Gorgeous Leaves is a beautiful stamp with a marvelous set of coordinating dies. I used the dies on this card and the stamp from Ornate Thanks and I created pumpkins too!

Painted Poppies

Painted Poppies is another great set that has forgotten about. The flowers are stunning and the dies fantastic! I pulled this beauty and began to play again.

I started with Pale Papaya card base and added a layer of Basic White with the splotch stamped on it with Calypso Coral. I added a strip of Pale Papaya with "Happy Birthday" stamped on it with Calypso Coral also. The flowers were stamped with Memento ink and colored with blends. I don't like how the center is such a ring. I didn't notice that while I was creating or I would have fixed that. The leaves were stamped on Soft Sea Foam with the same ink. The flowers and leaves were then die cut and adhered to the card with dimensionals.

Friends are Like Seashells

Ah, seashells! The ocean calls my name. Sometimes I feel like Moana in that the pull to go to the ocean is great! Living in WI, I don't get to the ocean very often but we have planned our summer vacation already and we are headed to the Gulf! I am so looking forward to that!

Meanwhile, I will create with my shell stamps! Friends are Like Seashells debuted last January in the mini. This family of goodies has the stamps, dies and an embossing folder. I stamped the shell and die cut it. The background was made using alcohol and Blend markers on vellum and then I embossed the vellum with the embossing folder. I then took a sanding block and sanded the vellum lightly to get the white you can see on the card. You can watch the replay of my Facebook live using this technique HERE.

Daisy Lane

Daisies are my favorite flower, which I'm sure I have shared with all of you before. They remind me of summer and sunshine and simplicity.

I started this card with Merry Merlot cardstock and added a layer of Flirty Flamingo. I stamped the ferns with Garden Green on the Basic White layer. The greeting layer was punched twice, once from Merry Merlot and once from Basic white. I stamped the daisies and the greeting with Flirty Flamingo and Merry Merlot. The daisies were punched and layered. The greeting was layered with the Merry Merlot die cut in half and added to the top and bottom of the greeting.

Delicate Dahlias

Yep, this proves how far behind I am! While looking at the pictures I have set up on my blog that are awaiting me to write up the post for them, look what I found! Delicate Dahlias! Yes, this was a Sale-a-bration set from this summer and not available any longer but it's the perfect time for me to chat with you about the current Sale-a-bration and give you some inspiration for a set that may be collecting dust on your shelf!

This card is made with Daffodil Delight as it's base. I stamped the outline of the dahlias with Memento ink and then used the other dahlia stamp to "color" in the images. I added a few of the speckle images from Biggest Wish to fill in some of the white space. This checked ribbon is some of my all time favorite! This card just had to have some.

Nuts About Squirrels Scrapbook Pages

Oh. My. Goodness! When I saw this stamp set in the fall mini catalog, I knew that I had to have them! My youngest two daughters were being so silly one day. They were goofing around and the next thing I hear is Lydia saying, "You are a tree. I am a squirrel." I look up and Lydia has attached herself to Belle with her arms and legs! Belle was trying to move but it didn't work well. Lydia kept repeating, "You are a tree. I am a squirrel."

When I saw this stamp set, I knew that I had to have it so that I could preserve this wonderful memory! Here are the set of scrapbook pages that I made with it.

Playful Penguins

These penguins really are adorable and playful. Playing with them was so much fun. I did some fussy cutting to get all the extra pieces for these cuties.

The card base is Shaded Spruce with a layer of pattern paper called Penguin Playmates. The penguins are all punched with the coordinating punch. I did fussy cut the hat, antlers, and scarf. I also colored the pearls with dark Shaded Spruce blend marker.

This one is adorable too! Night of Navy is the card base with more of the Penguin Playmate designer series paper for a layer. The white layer behind the penguin is slightly colored with Night of Navy ink and a blending brush. I made sure that I started the blending brush off the cardstock so that the darkest parts would be on my scratch paper and not my project. More fussy cutting of the hat and scarf.

This is a fun fold card. The fold is called a double z fold. I did make a Facebook live creating this card. You can watch the replay HERE if you'd like to learn more about this card.

I couldn't decide which side of the designer series paper I liked more so I made one of each. Above you can see the characters and below you see the pine trees. Which is your favorite?

The Penguin Playmate designer series paper is no longer available. It was a freebie during the second sale-a-bration which took place during August and September. You may still have some floating around or chose a different paper to add pizzazz to your cards.

The pictures below will take you to my online store if you would like to do a little retail therapy! Just click on them to see all the goodies you can add to your arsenal.
