Dragonfly Garden

The fall is such a beautiful time of the year. The colors are changing and you never know what the next day will bring for weather either. We had a swarm of dragonflies in our backyard a couple of weeks ago. It was amazing to watch them fly around but I was very glad to have screens on our windows at the same time.

Dragonfly Garden is an awesome set. I love to play with it when I get the time. I stamped the coneflower several times before re-inking on this card. I also distressed the edges of the Basic White layer.

Brewed For You

Brewed for You is an awesome set! I love that it also has the dies to coordinate with this fantastic stamp set. I'm not a big alcohol drinker. I will have a drink with friends or even with my hubby but not more than 2 ever. I still appreciate this set for everything that it is.

This first card I started by scoring the sides, top, and bottom a couple of times. I then stamped the wine glass 4 times with Stazon ink. One glass I stamped with Merry Merlot the contents of the glass. I added the greeting and bow. I added some of the Fine Tip Glue to the "wine" and allowed it to dry. This makes the stamped image look like glass. A very simple technique, if you have the patience to wait for the glue to dry!

Garden Wishes

Garden Wishes retired last May. It's a stamp/die set that I really liked but didn't use as much as I thought I would when I purchased it. This summer I decided I needed to use it a few more times before I added it to my for sale pile of goodies. Here are the results of that play time.

I challenged myself with a color combination that was a struggle too. My colors are Cinnamon Cider, Blushing Bride and Bumblebee. I added some Pear Pizzazz  because I really felt the need for a green. The greeting is hard to read on this picture. It is stamped with Blushing Bride and the angle is a challenge but the greeting is really there!

Parakeet Party

By now I'm sure you have seen the new In Colors. They are bright and fun! I have an In Color club where each month you get the cardstock, ink pad, marker, blends, designer series paper, ribbon, re-inker, glimmer paper, twine, and dots if you chose. When you are part of this club, you also get at least one card from me using the color for the month. I'm sharing with you the cards I made for Parakeet Party.

I only used Basic White and Parakeet Party for this card so that the color can stand out more. This limey green is one of my favorites! I always like when there is a limey green in our line up of colors!

Amazing Silhouettes

I was given this set by Stampin' Up! for attending a conference. I have to admit to not being in love with the set but I have still enjoyed creating with the set. Sometimes it's good to be forced outside of our comfort zone.

The leaves are stamped with Soft Succulent and Evening Evergreen. This is a pretty simple card but it is pretty anyway.

Prince & Princess

Did you notice this set in the last catalog? It was a hostess only set. I got it right away in May or June last year and then it sat on my shelf. I always figured I had all year to use it! Man, time sure does fly by once in a while! I always picked a different set to create with and this one collected dust.

I did pull it before the catalog ran out but I didn't get to sharing my creations until now. The card base is Crumb Cake with Calypso Coral and a hint of Balmy Blue. I did put Wink of Stella on the swan. It's very shimmery and shiny in real life.

Let's Set Sail

Well, I have been missing again. This summer was way busier than I anticipated and something had to fall through the cracks. The blog was one of the many things that didn't get accomplished like I had hoped. School started this week and with a schedule I should be able to work on things in a timely manor again, at least I hope so!

I played with Let's Set Sail and create these three cards. The firs one was created with Pool Party as the base and water color. The boat is Real Red, Night of Navy and Bermuda Bay. I kind of wish I would have sponged a bit more Night of Navy in the sky. It feels like a couple of smudges instead of intentional.

Hello Ladybug Scrapbook Pages

I love the layout of these pages! I will have to use this sketch again with different papers and see what else I can come up with. But before I get ahead of myself, let's take a closer look at these pages.

Peaceful Cabin

It's one of the hottest days of the year in SE WI and I'm going to share some Christmas cards!

This is a set that was available during the July-December mini catalog last year. It's called Peaceful Cabin. It had a coordinating set of dies that made playing with it even more fun.

On this first card I masked the cabin. I used the dies to do that and you can see a bit of a halo around the cabin where the trees should be but they are not. Lesson learned, trim the die cut if using to mask. To mask start by stamping the image on the cardstock where you want it. Now stamp again on a post it note or copy paper and fussy cut out. Lay the cut out image on top of the stamped image and stamp the rest around the main image. Remove the post it note image and complete card.

Confirmation Gifts 2022

If you have followed me for a while, you know that my husband is a pastor at a Lutheran church in Racine, WI and that every spring we have confirmation. Every year I make the kids gifts. I use retired designer series papers from Stampin' Up!, print their confirmation Bible verse, and frame them. Here is this year's gifts.

There is a bit of a glare on these because of the glass on the frames so the letters look a little blurry. These aren't blurry in real life.

They also appear to not be level but that is the way they are angled when I took the pictures. I wish I would have realized that before I wrapped them and gave them out!

The crosses are wooden crosses that I picked up at Hobby Lobby and painted black before I adhered them.

The letters are adhered to the outside of the glass. They are die cut from vinyl.

The words come from their passage and the kids all get to pick a passage that means something to them. I print the passages on Basic White cardstock and then layer it with Basic Black.

So what do you think? I have shared these every year for a number of years already. Go take a look. I have fun making them for these kids on their confirmation day.

Happy Stampin'!

Waves of Inspiration

Maybe you remember that I love the ocean. When Waves of Inspiration came out as an early release bundle introducing the new catalog, I knew I had to have it! So I ordered it and then the very busy spring months came and I never inked it up. I am glad this set is around for a while so that I can enjoy it!

The card base is So Saffron. I ran the top layer through my Stampin' Cut & Emboss machine with the Painted Texture embossing folder. The sunset was created by using blending brushes and So Saffron, Crumb Cake and Pumpkin Pie inks.

Daisy Garden

This large background stamp is so much fun to create with. You don't have to use the whole image which is easy to forget for any stamp but especially these large stamps.

I stamped the daisies on a piece of Basic White with Memento ink and colored this in with watercolor pencils. I did add a bit of Wink of Stella to the center of the daisies.

Seas the Day

Seas the Day retired yesterday but I still love this set! I couldn't put it away yet. I started with Pool Party for the card base. I masked the strip in the middle of the Basic White piece with post it notes and then stamped the seaweed with Bermuda Bay. I stamped the seaweed more than once before re-inking. I then used a blending brush with Pool Party.

Quiet Meadows Scrapbook Pages

This set of pages was made with Cinnamon Cider as the base. This color is no longer available through Stampin' Up! The papers are about to be retired too. In fact, today is the last day they will be available if they aren't sold out already. I am trying to use what I have.

Campology

I really like this stamp set. I keep coming back to it to play with while other sets go un-inked! I need to fix that but for now I was playing with Campology again!

I stamped the tent on Basic White with Memento ink and color it with light Crumb Cake and Old Olive blends. I fussy cut it to add to the scene that I stamped. I used a blending brush to add a bit of Balmy Blue to the sky.

Happy Grad and Pomp & Circumstance

As I shared yesterday, we were invited to a number of graduations, both high school and college. I made many graduation cards this year. I did the same layout for each card but changed the colors to match the school colors of the graduate. I love that about making my own cards! I can adjust the colors to my needs.

Hello Ladybug

Did you miss me? I can't believe how long it has been since I posted here! UGH! Spring is always super busy and this one was even more so. Belle played in 26 soccer games, Michael and I went to San Antonio for a week, confirmation, Miriam graduated college, a close friend graduated college, a couple of nephews graduated high school as well as several friends' kids, the end of the school year, and we took our week long vacation to Panama City Beach!

Whew! With all that going on, I didn't get much stamping completed. I didn't have much time for writing up blog posts either. Please excuse me for the delay but I have got some fun cards to share with you. So let's get to it!

The Hello Ladybug bundle debuted in the January-June mini catalog and will be with the Stampin' Up!  line up until, at least next May! This first card shows all the new in colors too. From left to right they are Starry Sky, Orchid Oasis, Tahitian Tide, Parakeet Party and Sweet Sorbet. Do you have a favorite yet?

Daffodil Afternoon

Did you get some of this great paper during Sale-a-bration? Pull it out and get creating with it! There are so many ways to create cards fast. You need to let the designer series paper sing!

The Daffodil Afternoon designer series paper needed to get cut at my house. I know I struggled to use this paper at first because it is fairly dark and spring shouldn't be dark colors in my mind. Once I started cutting it up, though, I was able to get several cards made.

Amazing Silhouettes

Amazing Silhouettes was a free set that I got from Stampin' Up! for attending one of their conferences. I'm not sure I would have purchased this set on my own but I might was well use it since I have it! Here are three cards using this set.

This card has a Gorgeous Grape base. I used the blending brush to add some ink to the Basic White background cardstock. The butterfly does have Wink of Stella on it but you can't see it.

Tidings & Trimmings

Trimmings & Tidings is retiring in just a few weeks but I had so much fun creating several different cards with very different looks. I love that challenge of using the stamp set in different ways.

This first card starts with Soft Suede card base. I stamped the star with Crumb Cake ink to create the background for the main image. The stars were die die as well at the berries and leaves. The string star is cut from gold foil paper.

Jar of Flowers Scrapbook Pages

I love the challenge of creating scrapbook pages with stamp sets. I pulled Jar of Flowers from my shelf and took the challenge to make some scrapbook pages with it. I think I succeeded!

Sunshine & Rainbows

Another class that I'm hosting very soon is the Sunshine & Rainbows class. At this class you will be getting a half of a pack of the Sunshine & Rainbows designer series paper to make these cards and then the rest of the half pack is yours to take home with you!

My Class at Home this month is featuring the Cactus Cuties bundle. This bundle includes a coordinating punch and really is cute! Option 1 is the gotta have it all option. It includes Cactus Cuties Bundle (stamps and punch), Sponge Daubers, Paper Snips, Linen Thread, Supplies to create 6 cards (2 each of 3 designs), and a PDF Tutorial for $60.

Garden Wishes

I was given this stamp set a long time ago. I don't remember if it was a freebie from Stampin' Up! for attending some conference or if I won it from one of the stamping groups I am part of. I do know that it sat on my shelf for a very long time! I don't know why I never pulled from the shelf. Now it is retiring and I wanted this set to see a least a little ink so here we go!

I started with a simple technique of stamping the image with VersaMark ink and then covering the ink with pastel dust. It gives the image a hazy look but I really like how it turned out.

For Unto Us

The stamp set For Unto Us is a fantastic religious Christmas greeting set. It was part of Stampin' Up! for 2 years and has now retired. I will be keeping this set in my collection for a while as I love the religious nature of it and find that hard to find once in a while.

This card is a base of Smoky Slate with Basic Gray and Basic White as layers. The music was embossed and then I ran the ink pad over the top so that the embossing would pick up that ink.

Spring Butterflies Scrapbook Pages

The Daffodil Afternoon papers that were part of Sale-a-bration were a little darker than I would have guessed and I wasn't sure about them because of this. I learned to work with them and am very pleased with the way these pages turned out.

Simply Marbleous Daisies

Did you see my post where I shared how to make these chevron cards? Well, you can see it HERE if you would like to take a peek. When I was creating those cards, I made a boo-boo. I couldn't throw away that boo-boo and this gorgeous paper so I worked with it and created this card. My mistake was that I made 2 pieces with the slants going the same way as the other one. It so happened that they were opposite each other and worked well to create this card with the blues and purples.

Awesome Otters

I didn't get to play with this set much while it was available, so I had to play a bit more before I put it away. I used the color palette of Pacific Point, Balmy Blue and Real Red. Here we go!

The Basic White layer was embossed with the Bark embossing folder that I used a blending brush and added some Pacific Point over the top lightly. It sure does feel like water! I colored the otter with blends.

Nature's Harvest

Nature's Harvest was an instant favorite of mine when I saw it in the July to December mini. I admit that I did hesitate to purchase it because I felt like it was very similar to Quiet Meadow and I already had that but in the end, the coneflowers got me and home this bundle came.

This card is pretty simple in that I didn't do anything fancy with it. The base is Calypso Coral with a die cut from Pear Pizzazz. The layers are Basic White and Petal Pink. The flower was colored with blends and die cut. I added a couple of gems, a greeting and a bow from linen thread. Nothing too fancy.

Happy Holly-Days

How are those Christmas cards coming? I am working slowly on getting ahead for the coming season. I hope that you are making some headway on getting those cards ready to go.

This stamp set was part of the July--December mini catalog. It's called Happy Holly-Days. I have a weakness for holly on Christmas cards. This set also has a beautiful bird. You can see several cards I made with the bird HERE

This set was part of a bundle that had a coordinating punch. The punch created a holly border. You can see how the punch worked on the bottom of this card. I added some Real Red cardstock to the back of the Basic White so the holly berries are red. The holly on the top of the card was stamped with VersaMark and then I used some Mossy Meadow and Poppy Parade pastels to color it.

Seas the Day

The March Class At Home featured the Seas the Day bundle. I LOVE the ocean. This set was one that was easy for me to know I had to purchase and get creating! I have plans to create a few more projects with this set but I have taken on some extra responsibilities at school for the next couple of weeks which will require more time outside of the school day. So, we will see if I am able to get some more done.

I did some block and marker stamping to create this card.

Driving By

This cute little car set will look fabulous no matter what colors you use. Driving By was only available during Sale-a-bration but I think several last minute orders have been delivered in last couple of days and why not still stamp with a fun set?

I wanted some more masculine cards so I chose the color palette of Pumpkin Pie, Pale Papaya and Basic Black. I used the Birch background on this first card. It felt like the road to me. The bug has some presents on the top of it on the stamp. I used a post it not to cover them and then inked up the stamp. I then removed the post it note and stamped the image on my cardstock.

Queen Anne's Lace

Every week for my weekly e-newsletter I create a color combination. Many I find off Pinterest, some from other challenges I see, so from items others have created and others from clothing and the things around me. I'm not sure where this one came from but I love the playfulness of this set of colors.

On Saturdays, I share these colors on my Facebook page. When I shared this one, someone asked me to share some examples of this color combination. I will admit that I don't always use the color combinations that I share. I would like to but time just doesn't allow me to complete all of them. I had that day fairly free so I pulled the colors and a stamp set I haven't used yet and here are my creations!

Driving By Scrapbook Pages

How about these pages? I think they turned out so adorable! The Sunshine & Rainbows designer series paper brings me so much delight! The bright colors are so happy and fun.

The clouds were fussy cut from one of the pieces of paper from the pack and then adhered with dimensionals. The cars were fussy cut out after they were stamped. My bus was stamped on Basic White cardstock and then again on the rainbow paper. Both were fussy cut. I only cut the bottom portion of the van from the rainbow paper and adhered that to the top of the Basic White van.

The rainbow was also fussy cut. The corvette had balloons on it that I just didn't cut out after it was stamped. The ribbon on the bottom is wrapped around the edges. I then made a bow and added it to the top of the ribbon. The squares on the bottom are 2" square. This is a fun way to show lots of designs of the paper.

I really like this patch work quilt look for using those 6" x 6" packs of designer series papers. You get to use so many of the patterns too!
