You get to see how much I like nature again! Happy Holly-Days stamp set was purchased by me because I adored this bird! I kind of knew that it wouldn't hang around more than the mini catalog but I still loved this bird enough that I bought the set. I did use it but then didn't take the time to write up posts and share with you.
The bird and holly are fussy cut. If you don't like fussy cutting, DON'T FUSSY CUT THE HOLLY LEAVES! They were a pain in the bum and I don't mind fussy cutting. The bird wasn't too bad. The card base is Granny Apple Green and the strip in the middle is Real Red. The bird and holly are colored with blends. The red has gold foil along the edges. The foil is a bit pricey so to make sure I'm not wasting any of it, I cut 1/2" strips and adhered them to the edges of the Real Red cardstock.
Yep, more fussy cutting on this one but only one of the holly group. I think I should have used the color lifter a bit more on this bird. It seems a bit too red. The base is Shaded Spruce and the Basic White was die cut with Ornate Frames dies.
The bird was stamped with Memento ink and colored with blends. The wood grain on the bottom is a piece of designer series paper and the holly was punched. I added 3 rhinestones that I colored red with the blends to the center of the holly leaves. I used a blending brush to add some Pool Party color around the bird.
Thanks for stopping by to see what I have to share. While this set is no longer available, you can get other sets that could be used in these layout. I hope I inspire you to pull out some stamps and get creative!
