Christmas Ornaments

I adore homemade Christmas ornaments. I enjoy the challenge every year to see what I can make that year. I will admit that I actually made these over a year ago. There was always something more pressing to post so these sat in the drafts for a very long time. It is time for them to see the light of day! YEAH!!

I purchased some mini grapevine wreaths from Oriental Trading. I stamped, color and die cut the cardinal and branches. I die cut extras of them too so that I could cover the back where you can see the ink bleed through the cardstock. I adhered them to the grapevine wreath with the Multi-purpose liquid glue. I'm happy to say that they are still holding quite nicely over a year later. I added a hanger to the top and a bow.

Toile Christmas

This cardinal from Toile Christmas is on the retiring list. I love this classic, realistic look of this guy. I have enjoyed working with him and have made some fun Christmas cards. It's never too early to get started on making your Christmas cards!

I colored the cardinal with my Real Red blends. The designer series paper is called Toile Tidings. Without a greeting, you really could use this card for just about anything!

More of the Toile Tidings designer series paper to create the background for this card. I stamped the cardinal this time with Real Red ink and didn't color him in. You can see that he is still stunning. The banner and greeting are also part of this set and the die to cut the banner is part of the die set.

I used the Cherry Cobbler blends on this card. I like the richer color but the bright Real Red is fun too! You can see that I embossed the Basic White cardstock in the background with the Woodland embossing folder. This has been staple in my creating and I'm a bit sad that it is going away. I embossed the banner and greeting with white embossing powder, not gold like the recipe says.

This classic bird could be part of your collection but don't delay. These things are going so fast!

Toile Christmas Pages

I have started a pattern of sharing my scrapbook pages on Thursdays. I'm not sure why I picked that but here we are, on Thursday and I have another set of scrapbook pages that I want to share with you!

I used Toile Christmas. This cardinal is such a stunning piece of artwork. I feel very much like an artist with this beauty. I also used a retired set of alphabet dies called Large Letters. I think I have shared before that I tend to hold on to my alphabet dies. I love have a variety to pick from for my scrapbooking.

I used the In the Woods die set to cut the leaves and the Christmas Cardinal for the cardinal and swirls. I did use blends to color that stunning bird. The gold highlights make these pages a bit more glitzy. A little bit of black glittered organdy ribbon helps complete this page.

I wanted the cardinal to face the opposite way than the stamp stamps so I stamped the cardinal on my craft mat and then flipped the mat upside down and rubbed the ink off the mat, onto my Basic White cardstock. I was able to color him in then and then I had to fussy cut him out because the die works only for the original stamped image. You can see the Large Letters better in this picture.
