Mother's Day Pot

Here's another one of those cards that has been around the web for quite some time. I had never created one and thought I'd give it a whirl! I made this for Mother's Day. I do have a tip for you on this card though. Make sure it will fit into an envelope if you plan to mail it! Yep, that's right. I was getting ready to mail this to my mom when I realized that I never thought about the envelope! The flowers are too tall and it won't good into the envelope! Oh well, it will make a pretty tag for a gift!

Tweet,Tweet!

These birdhouse cards have been around on the web for quite some time but I have never created one before. I decided that it was time to make my version of this great card! Stampin' Up!'s bird punch is perfect for making the little birdies and branches for this card. The edges of the card are all sponged with Marina Mist or Tangerine Tango. I know it's hard to see in the picture! So, what do you think?

Where is Spring?

After this weekend, I needed a little spring! We had 45 mph winds and a temp of only 45! That wouldn't be so bad if you could remain in your house. Not my family! We had 2 soccer games on Saturday and 2 more on Sunday! UGH! Now I was a good mommy and sat out on Saturday for Belle (5yr) and Lydia's (8) games. Sunday, I watched Miriam's (11) 1st game outside but I couldn't bring myself to sit out again the second game! I did park my van in a way that I could watch the entire game so I didn't miss her goal but that wind was more than a person could handle!

Well, that is why I am picking this card to share with you today. It reminds of spring that just hasn't seemed to find SE WI yet! Yes, the tulips and daffodils are blooming but our tempatures just don't want to get above 50's for very long! Anyway, this card is for Color Challenge #89 and Sketch Challenge #87 over at Stampin' Addicts. The butterfly is rock & rolled in Poppy and Concord.

Stampin' Up!'s Bugs and Kisses

These cards were created for Stampin' Addicts sketch challenge #89 and color challenge #88. I couldn't decide which ribbon I liked better so I make two cards, one with Pear Pizzazz ribbon and one with Peach Parfait ribbon. I like this sketch. It takes something I have done several times and put a twist on it! Placing the 4 squares in the corner is something that felt wrong but it works!

Here's the card with the Peach Parfait ribbon. I think I like this one just a little bit better! What do you think?
Wonderfully Worn is stamped in the background, it's hard to see.

A Walk in the Park

I found a card online that I really liked so I made my own version. Sorry, I can't remember whose lovely card was the inspiration for this one! They are pretty similar. I used a different stamp set and a different piece of Designer Series Paper. The technique is watercoloring with markers. I added color to the areas that are the darkest and then with my aqua-painter, I spread the color throughout the image. I used this for a workshop card and the ladies loved this idea!

Sunny Thank You!

Here's another simple card that was lots of fun to create! The orange/lemon slice is rock and rolled in Daffodil Delight and Peach Parfait. I also added Dazzling Diamonds on the slice but that is hard to see in the photo. I see that I stamped the Thank You a little crooked, oops!

Springtime Smiles

So I was just playing with these colors that Abi picked out for me with this great stamp set! This set was in the Stampin' Up! Occassions mini and isn't available for purchase any longer but we have other great sets! Anyway, this is a pretty simple card. I stamped the egg from the stamp set Easter Blossoms in 3 colors in a wavy line then stamped the greeting underneath. Tied a ribbon and layered! Quick and simple! Sometimes that all the time we have!

Smooched Alien!

When I first saw this stamp set in the Stampin' Up! catalog, I knew that I had to have it. I know, I know. But Shelley, you have four girls, what on earth could you use aliens for? Well, my girls LOVE this set! When they have the chance to stamp, this is one of the sets that they are picking out all the time! This card was a long time in the making. Abi picked out the colors again for me. I started to this card on New Year's Eve. Well, I put it aside because I had classes and other stamping that had to get done. When I went back to work on it I couldn't find my Marina Mist ink pad! I looked everywhere for that ink pad and it just wasn't showing up, so I ordered a new pad. When it came I was putting it away and wouldn't you know it, my ink pad was right there! I tell ya, I looked there 5, 6, 7 times and it wasn't there! Oh well! I'm sure I'm NOT the only one to have done something like this and I'm sure that I will do it again!

The background on this card is embossed with a texture plate and then sprayed with some Smooch spritz. I watercolored the alien and then put Crystal Effects in the helmet. Not sure I'm thrilled with the ground on this card but I couldn't have this alien floating now could I!

Stampin' Up! Workshop card

This was one of the cards that I had my workshop attendees create. The ladies loved this card. I love this stamp set and am hoping that it makes it to the catalog come July! We used markers on the stamp and cut the decorative label in half to make a layer for the image. At the workshop, I had several people that had never seen the Big Shot! I know, how can that be?! Well, I was able to introduce them to this incredible machine! I even sold one that day and had others interested!

April Club Projects

At our last club meeting in April, we created projects using a Stampin' Up! Sneak Peek and items that were in the Occasions mini and are no longer available! So please forgive me for posting these items a little late!

The first card is the sneak peek! You could purchase this stamp set and DSP with a qualifying order or earn free with a qualifying workshop. These will be available again in July as they are from the new catalog that goes into effect on July 1! I also used the In Stitches wheel that was in the mini. I cut the wheel apart so that I could put the stitching marks where I wanted and I can use one set of stitches at a time!

All supplies are Stampin' Up!
Stamps: In Stitches, Four Frames, Hello Again
Ink: Not Quite Navy, Baja Breeze
Cardstock: River Rock, Not Quite Navy, Whisper White
Accessories: Final Press embossing folder, Decorative label punch, Paisley Petals DSP

This next card combined two of my favorite stamps from the mini, Eat Chocolate and Create a Cupcake! I also took inspiration from a Stampin' Success magazine. This is a magazine that only Stampin' Up! Demonstrators receive once a month. It's full of great ideas! I always enjoy reading it each month.

Stamps: Create a Cupcake, Eat Chocolate
Cardstock: Early Espresso, Real Red, Whisper White, Glimmer paper
Ink: Real Red, Early Espresso
Accessories: 1 3/8" circle punch, Designer Label punch, Build a Cupcake punch,

Cardstock: Crumb Cake, Very Vanilla

The last project we did was a carrot pouch. This uses the Petal Cone die from Stampin' Up! There are so many uses for this die. It's a ton of fun to use it! What can you come up with?

April Edition of Christmas!

Well, once again I created Christmas cards so that I can be all ready to go come the first part of December! I threw out my back a couple of weeks ago and had a hard time doing just about anything! What a long week of healing that was and terrible timing to boot! My oldest daughter Abigail was confirmed on Sunday May 1 in our church. We had a dinner celebration after the church service and I had food for 100 people! Couldn't get much of that done with a bum back, but I was able to do a little stamping as long as I only did a little at a time. This one being mostly punched pieces was easier on my back so I went with it! Here's a group shot of the 16 cards that I made!

Here's a single shot of just one! I love the way this card turned out! To make the cardinal I used an extra wing for the top and an extra wing for the face. The scallop square is on dimensionals as well as the cardinal's wing.
