I chose babies as my theme for the day. One of the teachers at the school that my children attend is having a baby and I volunteered to help with the baby shower! This has been lots of fun to put together. The mommy to be has chosen a different set of colors for her daughter's room. They are using gray on the walls and the bedding is being made out of several different patterns of material. I got a hold of the fabric and color coordinated as best I could to Stampin' Up! colors. The colors are Very Vanilla, Basic Gray, Poppy Parade, Pumpkin Pie, Daffodil Delight, Pear Pizzazz, Bermuda Bay (retired color) and Rich Razzleberry. The main fabric has flowers and butterflies in it and it has a vintage feel to it. I really wanted to work with what mom has picked out so those are the colors that I pulled out and started to create with! What a fun challenge this turned out to be.

My first project is the invitation! I love the way the onesie cards look so that's what I decided to create. Here's my card:

Only 15 more to go!
Then I created a favor to give out at the shower. When I showed it to my husband, he didn't know what it was but I'm guess you will all figure it out! Once I told him, then he got it but he really did NOT see it! My girls did but he didn't. MEN! Anyway, here's my favor.

Yep, that's a diaper! Silly man! I have 5 Hershey's nugget wrapped with DSP in a little baggie in the diaper. I only need 28 more of these! Anyone want to come and help? Always willing to stamp with someone! I'll even pay you in CHOCOLATE!

Last I really wanted to make a diaper cake. I have seen them all over the Internet but never had a reason to create one. I bought a package of diapers and rolled them while at school doing my study hall supervision job. Boy were the 7th graders confused when I walked in with a box of diapers! Got them all rolled and then came home and put together my cake!

I will post instructions and recipes on everything that I made on Monday or Tuesday. The baby shower isn't until the end of April so I'm hoping to make a banner and some Thank you cards to go with these goodies. Stay  tuned to see how far I make it!

Abi's Thank You's

In May, my oldest daughter, Abi, was confirmed. We had a big party to celebrate! She received lots of gifts and needed to send out "Thank you's" for them. She really wanted something with butterflies so this is what I came up with. I used Stampin' Up!'s Butterfly Prints to make this card.

Stamps: Butterfly Prints, Short & Sweet
Ink: Basic Gray, Pretty in Pink
Cardstock: Certainly Celery, Pretty in Pink, Melon Mambo, Whisper White
Accessories: Petals-a-Plenty embossing folder, Certainly Celery, Pretty in Pink, Melon Mambo re-inkers, baby wipe, butterfly punch, rhinestone, dimensional

The buttflies were made by using the technique called baby wipe re-inker ink pad. It's really quite easy but lots of fun! Take a baby wipe and place it on a paper plate. I like to fold my baby wipe into quarters. The place drops of your re-inkers onto the baby wipe. This is now your ink pad! One thing to keep in mind is that the colors will start to run together after a short time and this "ink pad" will dry out fast!

Where is Spring?

After this weekend, I needed a little spring! We had 45 mph winds and a temp of only 45! That wouldn't be so bad if you could remain in your house. Not my family! We had 2 soccer games on Saturday and 2 more on Sunday! UGH! Now I was a good mommy and sat out on Saturday for Belle (5yr) and Lydia's (8) games. Sunday, I watched Miriam's (11) 1st game outside but I couldn't bring myself to sit out again the second game! I did park my van in a way that I could watch the entire game so I didn't miss her goal but that wind was more than a person could handle!

Well, that is why I am picking this card to share with you today. It reminds of spring that just hasn't seemed to find SE WI yet! Yes, the tulips and daffodils are blooming but our tempatures just don't want to get above 50's for very long! Anyway, this card is for Color Challenge #89 and Sketch Challenge #87 over at Stampin' Addicts. The butterfly is rock & rolled in Poppy and Concord.

All supplies are Stampin' Up!
Stamps: Teeny Tiny Wishes, Butterfly Prints, Bella Toile
Ink: Whisper White, Concord Crush, Poppy Parade
Cardstock: Concord Crush, Poppy Parade, Basic Black, Whisper White
Accessories: Butterfly punch, Word Window punch, Modern Label punch, Neutral brads, dimensional

Occasions Mini and Sale-a-bration swaps!

In December I participated in a swap for the Occasions mini and Sale-a-bration stamp sets. These are the cards that I did for that swap!

The first one is pretty plain. I sponged the Soft Suede base as well as the Regal Rose layer. The best part of this card is that I got to use the brand new Create a Cupcake stamp set and the coordinating punch, Build a Cupcake! LOVE IT!

Stamps: Create a Cupcake
Ink: Soft Suede, Early Espresso, Regal Rose, Pacific Point
Cardstock: Soft Suede, Pacific Point, Regal Rose, Whisper White
Accessories: Build a Cupcake punch, whisper white grosgrain ribbon, Perfect
Polkadots embossing folder, dimensionals

Here's my swap for Punch Bunch. My oldest daughter, Abi picked out the color combos for all 3 cards. I just love pink and brown together!

Stamps: Punch Bunch
Ink: Early Espresso
Cardstock: Early Espresso, Melon Mambo, Whisper White
Accessories: Scallop circle punch, 1 3/8" circle punch, Finial Press embossing folder, Early
Espresso marker, Whisper White satin ribbon, dimensional

This last card was for the new jumbo wheel, In Stitches. This is a really cool wheel. I have been wanting a stamp set that has stitching markings on it. When I first saw the wheel, I was really disappointed. I wanted a stamp set! Then it dawned on me. I could cut the rubber off the wheel and then cut the stitching markers so that they are separate! And guess what, I now have my stamp set! I just use a little adhesive to put it onto one of my clear blocks and then I can stamp with it! The best part, I got a  6 piece stamp set for only $8.50! Gotta love that!

Stamps: In Stitches, Butterfly Prints
Ink: Tempting Turquoise, Wild Wasabi, Basic Black
Cardstock: Whisper White, Tempting Turquoise, Wild Wasabi
Accessories:  Butterfly punch, Basic Black grosgrain ribbon, twine, rhinestones, dimensional

Now you need to go find a swap and sign up! Go create something fabulous and share it with others!

Happy Stampin'!
