I chose babies as my theme for the day. One of the teachers at the school that my children attend is having a baby and I volunteered to help with the baby shower! This has been lots of fun to put together. The mommy to be has chosen a different set of colors for her daughter's room. They are using gray on the walls and the bedding is being made out of several different patterns of material. I got a hold of the fabric and color coordinated as best I could to Stampin' Up! colors. The colors are Very Vanilla, Basic Gray, Poppy Parade, Pumpkin Pie, Daffodil Delight, Pear Pizzazz, Bermuda Bay (retired color) and Rich Razzleberry. The main fabric has flowers and butterflies in it and it has a vintage feel to it. I really wanted to work with what mom has picked out so those are the colors that I pulled out and started to create with! What a fun challenge this turned out to be.

My first project is the invitation! I love the way the onesie cards look so that's what I decided to create. Here's my card:

Only 15 more to go!
Then I created a favor to give out at the shower. When I showed it to my husband, he didn't know what it was but I'm guess you will all figure it out! Once I told him, then he got it but he really did NOT see it! My girls did but he didn't. MEN! Anyway, here's my favor.

Yep, that's a diaper! Silly man! I have 5 Hershey's nugget wrapped with DSP in a little baggie in the diaper. I only need 28 more of these! Anyone want to come and help? Always willing to stamp with someone! I'll even pay you in CHOCOLATE!

Last I really wanted to make a diaper cake. I have seen them all over the Internet but never had a reason to create one. I bought a package of diapers and rolled them while at school doing my study hall supervision job. Boy were the 7th graders confused when I walked in with a box of diapers! Got them all rolled and then came home and put together my cake!

I will post instructions and recipes on everything that I made on Monday or Tuesday. The baby shower isn't until the end of April so I'm hoping to make a banner and some Thank you cards to go with these goodies. Stay  tuned to see how far I make it!

Mixed Bunch Trio

This stamp set is in the Occasions mini from Stampin' Up! and I am loving it! This is a card that we did at my workshops during the month of February. I guess that means I'm behind on  posting my samples. Man, I wish life wasn't so busy all the time! I thought when basketball ended things would settle done but that has not happened! I know that someday I will be missing these days but wishing for a little slower pace right now isn't wrong, is it?

Any-who, this is a pretty simple card but the ladies at my workshops loved it!

Stamps: Mixed Bunch, Thank You Kindly
Cardstock: Real Red, Whisper White, Pumpkin Pie
Ink: Pumpkin Pie, Real Red
Accessories: Blossom punch, 1/2" circle punch, dimensionals

Eventually, life will slow down. In the meanwhile, I will try to post and keep up!

Everyday Enchantment Double Layout

I have a scrapbooking class once a month. I have really enjoyed creating the pages for this class. Scrapbooking has been a challenge for me. I feel very overwhelmed with the number of pictures that I need to put into albums! I get that 12x12 paper in front of me and it feels SOOOO big! I love that I have this class on my schedule because it forces me to stretch and work at something that doesn't come easy to me.

Because scrapbooking doesn't come that easy for me, I tend to CASE and tweak. That is the case with this double layout. Kay Kalthoff created this layout and I used  changed some of the cardstock and DSP's. I wanted to make it my own even though I was borrowing from someone else! I ADORE the Everyday Enchantment DSP! I'm sad to see that it's time is ending. But you can still get it until the end of March with a $50 Stampin' Up! purchase! Don't miss out on this fabulous paper! I know that I'm starting to hoard it!

Here's a picture of the double layout.

And here's a close up of the left side.

And the right.

Stamps: Fresh Vintage
Ink: Calypso Coral
Cardstock: Peach Parfait, Calypso Coral, Pool Party, Very Vanilla, Lucky Limeade
Accessories: Beautiful Butterflies die, Everyday Enchantment DSP, Lucky
Limeade organdy ribbon, Tasteful Trim Die, Top Note Die

One of the many benefits of being a Stampin' Up! Demonstrator is the use of a website only for demonstrators. There are thousands of pictures of samples on this site and that is where I found Kay's creations that I tweaked. If you too want to be part of this website, now's the time to sign up! Until the end of March, the starter kit is on sale for $125 and you will receive a free pack of DSP each month for the rest of the year! You can sign up by clicking on my website and then clicking on join my team! If you have any questions, I would be happy to sit down and discuss the benefits of being a demonstrator.

Birthday Gnomie

This is my favorite of the 4 cards that I made using the Gnome Sweet Gnome set. This little gnome is ready to party! With all those sweets behind her, who wouldn't be? I colored her in with markers. I tried some of the marker layering but I'm not sure it worked real well. Anyway, she's still a sweet little card. My youngest daughter, Belle has already used this card for a birthday party that she had been invited too! I guess she thought it was cute!

Stamps: Gnome Sweet Gnome, Short & Sweet
Ink: Wisteria Wonder, Basic Gray
Cardstock: Wisteria Wonder, Calypso Coral, Whisper White
Accessories: Markers: Lucky Limeade, Wisteria Wonder, Calypso Coral, Pool Party,
Indigo Island, So Saffron, Wisteria Wonder baker's twine, Sweet Shop DSP

I hope you enjoyed seeing my gnome cards. I had lots of fun making them. I may have to make a few more just because I can!

Baby Gnomie

I wanted to show my club that you don't have to color everything in to make it look good! That's how this card started out. I inked up the D acrylic block with Baja Breeze and stamped using the block. I did this again and stamped again leaving the ink in the block shape on the cardstock. I stamped the baby gnome with Indigo Island. I like the way this turned out with the block stamping. Very simple (would make a good workshop card) but still effective!

Stamps: Gnome Sweet Gnome, Teeny Tiny Wishes
Cardstock: Pear Pizzazz, Island Indigo, Whisper White
Ink: Baja Breeze, Island Indigo, Pear Pizzazz
Accessories: Twitterpated DSP, Perfect Polka Dot embossing folder, Acrylic block D

One more gnome card tomorrow. That one is my favorite which is why I saved it for the end. Come back and see it!

Gnomie in Red

This is my gnomie in red. Every time I think of this gnomie in red the song The Lady in Red plays through my head! Weird, I know! I found this Youtube video so you to can have this song now stuck in your head!

Anyway, my gnomie in red is not my favorite of the gnome cards that I made. I like the layout but something just feels like it's missing.

Stamps: Gnome Sweet Gnome, Gnomenclature
Ink: Basic Gray, Riding Hood Red
Cardstock: Basic Gray, Riding Hood Red, Blushing Bride, Whisper White
Accessories: Decorative label punch, scallop circle punch, 1 3/8" circle
punch, Twitterpated DSP, Riding Hood Red pleated ribbon

So what do you think? At least I used a set that I really didn't think would see ink in my house! (I bought Gnomenclature after my club issued the challenge of creating 4 cards with the gnomes! Pretty cheap set too.)

Hangin' With My Gnomies

The ladies in my club found out that many demonstrators for Stampin' Up! received the gnome set for free free and they wanted me to make 4 cards using this set. (We got this set by rising above the challenge that home office set before us! Yeah!) I have to admit, that I would NOT have purchased this set on my own but free is free! Because it's not a set that speaks to me, I was a little nervous about this challenge from my club! So I started this challenge with a sketch (I'm not sure which sketch this is as I don't have my sketch book with me!) and started to layout all the pieces.

This was the first card.

Stamps: Gnome Sweet Gnome, Gnomenclature
Ink: Basic Gray, Pear Pizzaazz, Island Indigo, Riding Hood Red, Blushing Bride, Baja Breeze
Cardstock: Island Indigo, Baja Breeze, Blushing Bride, Whisper White
Accessories: Aquapainter, Modern label punch,  Word Window punch, Riding Hood Red pleated ribbon, Twitterpated DSP, dimensionals

I wasn't sure how much I liked the first one, so I created another and added a layer of Indigo Island under the ribbon and moved the phrase to the top of the card.
Stamps: Gnome Sweet Gnome, Gnomenclature
Ink: Basic Gray, Pear Pizzaazz, Island Indigo, Riding Hood Red, Blushing Bride, Baja Breeze
Cardstock: Island Indigo, Baja Breeze, Blushing Bride, Whisper White
Accessories: Aquapainter, Modern label punch,  Word Window punch, Riding Hood Red pleated ribbon, Twitterpated DSP, dimensionals

So what do you think? I will be sharing the other 3 cards this week, I hope!

Love is in the Air

I ordered the Love Letterpress plate when it was on clearance in December. I just didn't understand how to use them but I thought I'd give it a try. (Discounted price can be a great incentive to give something a try we might not want to otherwise!) Admittedly I have only used it this one time! I guess I just found myself a challenge!

First I stamped the hearts with Pretty in Pink ink. Then I inked up the plate with Basic Black ink and ran the cardstock through the Big Shot on the plate. The plate leaves an impression as well as the ink on the cardstock. Really kind of neat! The heart is punched from the Silver Glimmer paper. I'm loving that stuff too!

Stamps: I {Heart} Hearts
Cardstock: Basic Black, Whisper White
Ink: Pretty in Pink, Basic Black
Accessories: Full Heart punch, Pretty in Pink satin ribbon, Rhinestones

Little Girl's Birthday!

This is my last swap from the birthday card swap that I participated in. This one is for a little girl and I chose to use the Build a Bear stamp set. I love the little guy and girl that come in this set! They are just too cute! I love all the texture on this card. The 3 background colors all have been run through the Big Shot with different embossing folders. The bear is watercolored and I'm not the best at that. Still learning how to perfect that technique.

Stamps: Beary Best Friends, Teeny Tiny Wishes
Ink: Black Stazon, Daffodil Delight, Tempting Turquoise, Regal Rose, Soft Suede
Cardstock: Daffodil Delight, Tempting Turquoise, Regal Rose, Basic Black, Whisper White
Accessories: Modern Label punch, Word Window punch, Petals a Plenty, Square
Lattice and Vintage Wallpaper embossing folders, Boho Blossoms punch, dimensionals

This is one of the cards that we will be creating at Chick & Chocolate: Birthday Bash on Friday, April 13. Call or email today to reserve your spot!

The 6 P's!

Another of my birthday card swaps. This one is a feminine card. These are much easier for me to create! Abi (my oldest daughter, 14 years old) helped me pick out the colors. When she pulled these out, I admit I was a little befuddled! I really wasn't sure how to use them together.

Not sure if you can see it but the Perfect Plum is sprayed with Platinum shimmer paint mixed with alcohol. The panel in the middle is Whisper White cardstock that was sponged with Pink Pirouette and Pumpkin Pie before stamping the flowers in Perfect plum.

Stamps: Upsy Daisy
Ink: Pumpkin Pie, Pink Pirouette, Perfect Plum
Cardstock: Perfect Plum, Pumpkin Pie, Pink Pirouette, Whisper White
Accessories: Large oval punch, scallop oval punch, scallop trim border punch, Whisper White
grosgrain ribbon, sponges, Petals a Plenty embossing folder, Platinum shimmer paint

As I'm typing this in, I realized that all the colors have PP names! Now that's alliteration for you!

Birthday Wolf

I LOVE swaps! Especially with my friends over on Stampin' Addicts! I get the best swaps from them! We did another swap for Birthday cards. I signed up for a masculine card (and a few others!). I'm sure I'm not alone when I say that I struggle to make masculine cards. I love ribbon and other girly things way too much! This is the card that I created for the swap. Abi helped me pick out the colors. It's pretty simple, it could be used as a workshop card.

Stamps: Nature Silhouettes, Teeny Tiny Wishes, Woodgrain
Ink: Night of Navy, Chocolate Chip
Cardstock: Cherry Cobbler, Chocolate Chip, Night of Navy, Very Vanilla
Accessories:  Ticket corner punch, curly label punch, 1/16" handheld punch, silver brads

I will be posting the other birthday cards that I created for this swap over the next couple of days! Stay tuned and
Happy Stampin!
