Gorgeous Leaves

I do love the looks of the fall leaves. The color changes are so miraculous to me. I appreciate all the vibrant colors, the crunch of the dry leaves and even the cooler weather (although, I'll take the heat of summer any day!). The stamp set Gorgeous Leaves gives me a chance to create those fantastic colors.

The card base I kept neutral on this card with Crumb Cake. A layer of Early Espresso helps the Basic White pop. The leaves were stamped with Granny Apple Green, Mango Melody and Cherry Cobbler and then die cut.

I used the baby wipe technique to make this card. I took a baby wipe and folded it a couple of times and added a few drops of Granny Apple Green, Mango Melody and Cherry Cobbler re-inkers on that baby wipe. I then used that as my stamp pad to ink up these leaves and stamp with. I did make a video using this technique that you can watch HERE if you are interested.

I used another fun technique to create the background for this card. The tie-dye technique is done with a coffee filter. Take a white coffee filter and crumple it up. Gently uncrumple filter and crumple again. Gently uncrumple again. Quickly accordion fold the filter. Wrap the G block in half a baby wipe and ink up by stamping into an ink pad. “Stamp” the block on the folded filter several times, getting good ink on the filter. Repeat with another color. Alternate between colors until the filter is covered. Cut white cardstock to desired size for project. Place adhesive on the edges and middle of the cardstock and lay on top of the filter. Put more adhesive on the back of the cardstock. Trim filter down so that only about an inch is left around the cardstock and adhere to the back of the cardstock. I have a video for this technique too. You can see that HERE.

Whether you love fall like many of my friends, appreciate it but not love it or just tolerate it because what choice do you really have, this set could be a fun one to work with. While my cards on this post all lean to the autumn color schemes, you could do some beautiful work with greens or even some pastels for spring and summer lovers.
