Inky Friends Blog Hop: Live It, Love It, Share It: Hold on to Hope

Welcome to the Miss Mad Stamper stop on the My Inky Friends blog hop featuring the Occasions Mini, Love It. Live It. Share It. Each stop on this hop is showcasing a stamp set or bundle from the Occasions Mini.

You may have come from Cindy's blog where she featured the stamp set Beautiful Day. Aren't her projects lovely? Or you could be hopping backwards and got here from Kris's blog and her fabulous creations with Bubble Over. Either way, it doesn't matter! Have fun and enjoy!

I am featuring the bundle of Hold on to Hope. I adore sets that have a Biblical aspect to them. The cross dies in the bundle are amazing! I look forward to creating more with this bundle.

My first card is showing the stamp set. I stamped the cross with Lemon-Lime Twist and the passage with Fresh Fig right over the top of the cross. I enjoy this overlaid look.

The die cut cross on this card is my favorite of the group. The details in it are wonderful. To get the quilted look on the background of this card, I adhered the strips of card stock to the card base and ran the whole thing through the Big Shot in the Garden Trellis embossing folder. This technique was quite popular years ago. The butterfly has Wink of Stella on it, but you can't see that in the picture.

On my last card, I put the Early Espresso through the Big Shot using the Wood Plank embossing folder. The grain in the embossing reminds me of the rugged cross. After I die cut the banner, I did take an Aqua Painter to pull some of the color off the image and into the banner. I did have to use more ink from the ink pad to get the color I wanted.

Of course I had to make a scrapbook layout! Come back on Monday and I will have close ups of the pages as well as the details.

Hope you enjoyed my take with Hold on to Hope. You are off to see Kris's creative uses of Bubble Over. Or you are going backwards to see Cindy's take of Beautiful Day. Either way, have fun!

Happy Stampin'!

Very beautiful. Love seeing a scrabook layout.

Beautiful job! I love the idea of stamping the cross in the lighter color and overstamping with the sentiment. I always forget that trick. The cross die-cut is stunning as well.

Lovely cards, Shelley. I especially like the quilted one with the inlaid embossing.

Pretty cards Shelley - I love the one with the butterfly the most - so pretty :-)

I love all three of these beautiful cards. You used such cool techniques on all them. I haven't done that quilted technique in a while and I forgot how pretty it looks all embossed together. The woodgrain backgound on the last card is my favorite!

I love cards. I'd like to know the color and size of your strips and what color the oval is?
