Charming Sentiments is such an awesome stamp set with coordinating dies. The dies cut around the sentiments close and in the shape of the words. It's kind of a cool look that is fun to play with.
I started with Basic Gray card base and added a layer of Basic White, Basic Gray and Basie White. The top white layer has strips of Cherry Cobbler, Pumpkin Pie, Crushed Curry, and Old Olive. The colors make a great background for the greeting.
I inked up the Rays of Light background stamp with Parakeet Party, Pool Party, and Gorgeous Grape and finger daubers. I love to put multiple colors onto stamps with daubers. So easy and adds a wow to the card. I punched a decorative circle from Gorgeous Grape cardstock and added the greeting on top. There are a couple of iridescent rhinestones to this card too.
This technique is called twisted ribbon. I really like that you get to see both sides of the DSP and it does look like a ribbon has been twisted. You will need 8 strips of designer series paper that are cut 3/4" x 3-1/4". Cut a piece of Basic White to 2" x 5-1/4" and one side of the white cardstock every 3/4" lightly with a pencil. Flip the cardstock over and mark every 3/4" again. Pick which pattern is going to be in the background of the twist and put some glue down between the tick marks on the left top to the first and second marks on the other side. Lay the pattern paper onto the glue. Skip and area and repeat with the same pattern in the next area, using the tick marks to keep the paper straight and evenly spaced. Cut the excess paper off the edges. Repeat to the end of the paper. Now repeat again with the other pattern and going the opposite way. Cut the excess off the edges. HERE is the Facebook Live video that I did making this card. I'm sure it will make more sense how to do this if you watch the video.
