Dino stack

Here's another card that I made for My Inky Friends Design Challenge #2. I love these dinosaurs. They are too cute! This is another back to the basics card that just uses paper, stamps, and ink. I did fussy cut the party hats and adhere them with dimensionals but still pretty simple!

My Inky Friends Design Challenge #2

It's that time for My Inky Friends Design Challenge #2! It's the fourth Friday of the month that means we are challenging you to find some inspiration from the annual catalog!

We are a group of demonstrators that has meet through an online community (some I have met in real life too!) that has been blog hopping for years. Now we are adding monthly challenges from the annual catalog!

This month, it's a color challenge. I just LOVE color challenges. It's fun to see what others put together using the same set of colors. Our colors this time around are Berry Burst, Lemon-Lime Twist, and Soft Sky.

These dinos are so much fun! I enjoyed creating this card with the dinos and a color scheme you wouldn't normally think of with dinosaurs. This card only uses paper, stamps and inks.

Joy to the World Pages

I LOVE the way these pages turned out but they took FOREVER to create! This stamp set and dies were in the holiday mini but they are still available. It's one of the few things Stampin' Up! has held over. Now, why did they take FOREVER? Well, each house or church has gold foil behind it so it looks like there are lights on in the buildings.

You can see that better on the single page pictures. To do this, I traced the outside of each building on the gold foil paper and then cut it out with my paper snips and glued it on the back, making sure there were no little pieces hanging out the sides of the houses.

It was putzy but I really like the way it turned out! Very striking!

I did put some Wink of Stella on the hills. In real life, it looks like there is the glistening of the snow on the hills and trees around the houses.

Flurry Christmas

I did tell you that I had forgotten to share a few cards that I created this past December. Here are 3 more all using the stamp set Flurry of Wishes, using some non traditional Christmas colors.

The first card was fun to create. Layering the snowflakes on the front and cutting the edges that hang over, give the card a more random look then all of the snowflakes being whole. I love this color combo for Christmas cards.

You don't normally think of pinks for Christmas but it works! Here is my pink card.

Tranquil Tide has been growing on me. I've been trying to use it more. It didn't appeal to me like some of the other colors. I love what others have done with it but I just struggled. Did I succeed with this one?

The snow we got last week has melted. We don't have much on the ground at the moment. It's been kind of weird the lack of snow we have received in southeastern WI the last couple of years. Our schools build in snow days so that when it's too bad out, they can call school off and not have to go longer in June. We haven't used a snow day in 3 years! We even got 22 inches of snow last March and we had to go to school! It was lake effect snow. I live only a couple miles off of Lake Michigan. The storm just hung out over us and swirled around the lake, picking up more moisture and dumping on us. The roads were AWFUL!! We really should have had a snow day that day! I am still a bit bitter about it! Please pray with me that we get a snow day this year!
