Sailing Home

Living close to Lake Michigan has given me a new enjoyment for sailboats and lighthouses. The ocean has always spoken to me but Lake Michigan is just as beautiful, it's just not as warm. I think the warmest the water gets is about 75 degrees. That is way too cold for me!

Pumpkin Pie, Night of Navy, and Balmy Blue is the perfect color combination for this stamp set. I stamped the anchor on the Basic White cardstock and then sponged some ink over the Pumpkin Pie and Balmy Blue anchors. The birds were stamped with Night of Navy on the Balmy Blue cardstock with the lighthouse on dimensionals.

This card is fairly simple. The base is Balmy Blue with another layer of Balmy Blue that was embossed with Bark embossing folder. The bark embossing folder reminds me waves which is why I used it. The strip on the left is the Be Dazzling specialty paper that was a free item during the last sale-a-bration. I did color it with a spritzer of Night of Navy re-inker and alcohol. Masculine cards can be a challenge for many. This stamp set and dies help make those masculine cards so easy! I stamped the Pool Party with Birch background stamp. This looks like water to me too! I added a strip of Pattern Party designer series paper, wrapped with some white baker's twine. A die cut circle and sailboat and a greeting completes this fantastic masculine card.

Creating with Sailing Home is so easy and fun. I hope you all have this set in your arsenal! It's a pretty fantastic set.

Celebrate Sunflowers Scrapbook Pages

Celebrate Sunflowers has been a favorite of mine since it was released a year and a half ago. I adore the details in this stamp set and the coordinating dies are fabulous too. When it was time to create some fall scrapbook pages again, I had to pull this set from my shelf and create.

I stamped the sunflower with Crumb Cake and colored it with So Saffron, Daffodil Delight, Crumb Cake, and Old Olive blends. I used the Beauty of the Earth designer series paper to create a couple of banners and strip to help keep the page interesting.

The banners continue on this side of the pages and I die cut smile from Be Dazzling paper that was a freebie from Sale-a-bration with a retired set of alphabet dies. The sunflowers and letters are all on dimensionals. The sunflowers also have Wink of Stella on them.

These pages turned out fantastic. Now I need to find some pictures to put on them and then get them into a book. I have a crate full of pages that are awaiting pictures so they can be put into books. The to-do list is long and time is short!

I do teach a scrapbooking class once a month. In this class you will create 2 double layouts like this one. This class meets the third Monday of each month at 7pm. Please let me know if you would like to attend and get some pages put together!

Penguin Place

Every month I focus on a bundle that Stampin' Up! has to offer and create a class based on that bundle. For the month of November I chose the Penguin Place bundle. This is an absolutely adorable stamp set with a coordinating punch.

My to go class has three options to fit any budget. The first option for this class includes the stamps and punch, half of a pack of Penguin Playmates designer series paper (no longer available for purchase), Wintry embossing folders, rhinestones, supplies to create 6 cards (2 each of 3 designs) and a PDF tutorial for those cards for $61.

Option 2 includes the stamp set, 1/2 of a pack of Penguin Playmate designer series paper, Wintry embossing folders, rhinestones, supplies to create 6 cards (2 each of 3 designs) and a PDF tutorial for creating those cards for $45.

The last option has the 1/2 pack of Penguin Playmates designer series paper, Wintry embossing folders, rhinestones, supplies to create 6 cards (2 each of 3 designs) and the PDF tutorial for $27.

The cards you see above are the 3 designs that you will receive the supplies for in these class options.

I had so much fun playing with this set, I have 6 more cards to share with you! Three of those cards are not seasonal cards but everyday cards! This is such a cute and versatile set, you will want to take advantage of one of these classes!
