Ice Cream with a Cherry on Top!

April flew by and I didn't get around to posting to my blog.  Sorry about that! You don't even want to hear what I did in April. Very busy!

This is the card that the guests at my workshops in March created to take home with them. It's a really easy card. We colored the stamp with markers, right on the rubber and huffed on the rubber to re-moisten the ink and stamp on the cardstock. After stamping, we colored the ice cream cone with the VersaMarker and poured cherry scented embossing powder and then heat embossed the image. Have you smelled this embossing powder? It smells amazing!

Stamps: Mouthwatering, Teeny Tiny Wishes
Ink: Early Espresso
Cardstock: Blushing Bride, Lucky Limeade, Whisper White
Accessories: Everyday Enchantment DSP, Blushing Bride, Early Espresso and Poppy Parade markers, VersaMarker, Cherry scented embossing powder, mini brads, 1/16" circle punch, dimensionals

Now, you can't get the Everyday Enchantment paper any longer (only available for Sale-a-bration) but I'm sure you have something that you can use in it's place. Mouthwatering isn't available currently but will be on June 1st again! Yeah! Blushing Bride and Poppy Parade are colors that are retiring the end of May as well as the VersaMarker.  The scented embossing powders (there is cherry, vanilla and melon and they all smell amazing!) were in the Occasions mini that is no longer available but these powders are on the carry over list! Love it!

You can shop at my website for these and other retiring or non-retiring items. HERE's a link to my website. Just click on the SHOP NOW and you can see all the goodies that are available!

Occasions Mini Blog Hop Follow Up

First, I need to apologize for being gone so long and not posting! Life just got really crazy and I couldn't do everything. My blog isn't the only thing that didn't get done this last month!

Here's the first card from the blog hop. It has Melon scented embossing powder and boy does it smell yummy! I did use this card as a swap too.

Stamps: Mouthwatering, Short & Sweet
Ink: Whisper White, Certainly Celery, VersaMark
Cardstock: Certainly Celery, Early Espresso, Whisper White
Accessories: Perfect Polka dots embossing folder, Melon scented embossing powder, Early
Espresso marker, Whisper White grosgrain ribbon, Perfect Plum DSP, 1 3/4" circle punch, dimensionals

This card uses the new DSP from the Occasions mini called  Sweet Shop. Not a real difficult card but cute non the less! I really love the ruffled ribbon!

Stamps: Mouthwatering, Short & Sweet
Ink: Calypso Coral, Lucky Limeade
Cardstock: Calypso Coral, Lucky Limeade, Whisper White
Accessories: Perfect Polka dot embossing folder, Lucky Limeade ruffled ribbon, Modern label punch, Word Window punch, 2 3/8" Scallop Circle punch, mini brads, Scallop border punch, Sweet Shop DSP, sponge, dimensionals

I think this is my favorite card of this bunch! I was so happy with the way this turned out. I used the Stripes embossing folder to make the gingham background. I cut a piece of cardstock to 4 1/4" square. I brayered Old Olive ink on the embossing folder and placed the cardstock in the folder and ran it through the Big Shot. I took the cardstock out of the folder and re-brayered the folder with ink again. I placed the cardstock in the folder again so the stripes were perpendicular to each other and ran it through the Big Shot again. I then cut the cardstock down to the sized that I needed for my card.
Stamps: Mouthwatering, Short & Sweet
Cardstock: Certainly Celery, Whisper White, Melon Mambo
Ink: Old Olive
Accessories: Stripes Embossing folder, Melon Mambo and Old Olive
markers, mini brads, Melon Mambo Scallop ribbon, dimensionals

And last but not least, the ice cream cone necklace! I got the most comments on this little gem of a project and it's so simple! I stamped the cone on Crumb Cake cardstock using craft inks. Then I cut the cone out of the cardstock and glued it down, cut it out again. Because the vanilla ice cream didn't show up well enough for me, I stamped it on Very Vanilla cardstock and cut it out. Now I know what you are thinking but Shelley, it will be backwards then! Ahh, my dear, I used some Dotto adhesive to place it on the vanilla cardstock again and cut it out again! The second one is the one that I glued to the cone. I punched a hole with the 1/16" handheld punch and covered the whole thing with Crystal Effects. Once it dried, I turned it over and put more Crystal Effects on the back. Then I put a jump ring in the punched hole and put it on my chain. See, easy peasy!!

Stamps: Mouthwatering
Cardstock: Crumb Cake, Very Vanilla
Craft Ink: Early Espresso, Cherry Cobbler
Accessories: Crystal Effects, 1/16" circle handheld punch, jump ring
I hope that you enjoyed the hop as much as I did! There were so many great projects and I know that my wish list has grown! I wish my pocket book would grow as fast as my wish list does!!!

Occasions Mini Blog Hop

Welcome to the Stampin' Addicts Occasions mini Blog hop! We are featuring the new stamp sets and accessories from the upcoming Occasions Mini. There are 16 stops along the way. You may have come from Adriana's blog where she featured the stamp set You're My Type or you may be starting here, that's OK! The hop is linked in a circle so you can start anywhere along the way! If you get lost, you can always go HERE to get back on track!

The stamp set that I'm highlighting today is called Mouthwatering. It has 4 delicious treat images that you can use. I have used each image. The first one is a card that I used in a swap with other demos, so some of you may have seen this one already! If you have seen it, you might want to smell it too! I used the Melon embossing powder on the Popsicle! Yum, it smells so good!

The next card uses the great cherries in this set! I also used the new DSP called Sweet Shop. I'm loving this paper! The colors are faboo and the designs are so cute. I'm not into the large print DSP's and this one is much smaller and for me, easier to use. It helps that it's all bright colors and I love bright colors!

The third card that I created uses the watermelon image. I made the gingham background with the stripes embossing folder. Love how this turned out! Come back on Monday and I'll explain how I made the gingham.

My last project is something that I've wanted to create for a long time but just never took the time to get it done. This was just the push I needed to try it out. The results are an ice cream cone necklace! I'll explain the how to's for this on Monday too! It's not hard though and my girls are now fighting over this! They all want one!

I hope that I have given you some ideas for this great new stamp set! It has been lots of fun to play with and I think I still have a few more ideas to create! Stay tuned to see more!

The next blog on the list is Debra's Heartfelt Inkspiration, where she used the Fashionable Hearts Embosslits die to create her projects. She really has some out of the box ideas with these cute little hearts!
