Hang Your Stocking Pages

These pages I made last year when scrapping at a friend's house. I wasn't very faithful in posting to my blog then (lets face it, I still am not very faithful, but I am trying!) and I wanted to share them in light of using Hang Your Stocking for my blog hop stamp set. Because I made these last year, they are created with a retired In Color, Mint Macaron. You could recreate these pages using any other green color or even Pool Party would be an awesome substitute!

Halloween

Thanksgiving is just days away and here I am showing you Halloween! Well, I didn't want you to miss these great papers for your scrapbooks!

Now, I don't do much with Halloween. My children have all gone trick or treating but we don't do much decorating or even celebrating for Halloween. Because my girls do dress up, I have pictures to scrap. I really liked the DSP (Designer Series Paper) that Stampin' Up! created for Halloween but I didn't want to put a lot of money into stamps that I really wouldn't use so I created these pages just using the papers and a small stamp that says "Happy Halloween". The kitties are fussy cut from the papers and used as accents.

The left side of the pages. I don't think to offset the strips very often but I love the way it turned out on these pages!

Hang Your Stocking Cards

Here is a couple of cards using Hang Your Stocking stamp set. I really like this stamp set and I don't think I have given it enough love. That is why I chose to use it for the blog hop last weekend. While it was on my table, I created these 2 cards and a set of scrapbook pages.

This first card is created using some left over leaves from the August Paper Pumpkin kit. I'll have more info on what I all did with that kit on a later date.

This second card was inspired by one that I saw on Pinterest. I really like the way it turned out! The trees are off stamped to get the different colors. Off stamping is simple. You keep stamping without re-inking. You can usually get about 3 images that are pretty clear with inking the stamp only once. Easy way to get several shades of the same color!

Inky Friends: Presenting the Gifts: Hang Your Stocking

Welcome to another Inky Friends blog hop! These are so much fun! The theme for this months hop is gift packaging. How fun to make each gift something special.  If you are hopping in order, you came to me from Lily's Ink Pad where Sara used Snow Sentiments. You may be going backwards and found me from Stamp a Little Longer and Twila using Smitten Mittens to create some great packaging! Either way, you are here to see what I did with Hang Your Stocking.

My first item is a little gift bag. I used the Gift Bag Punch Board to make a medium sized bag. I didn't use the holes to string the top of the bag but added an extra score mark and folded my paper over the top of the bag to see the other side of the paper. I really like the font for this Merry Christmas stamp.

My second project is a little candy holder. I have a Peppermint Patty in mine but it will hold most fun sized candies. These would be fun to make and give to co-workers. Just something little!

This last project was more of a challenge for me. We don't do tags on our Christmas presents at my house. We have 4 daughters and a son-in-law. With 7 sets of gifts under the tree, that's a lot of tags! We have been wrapping each person's gifts in one type of wrapping paper. I wrap the gifts early and place them under the tree. No one knows what paper is theirs until we start opening. I love listening to the girls argue about who's paper is whose! The tree is pretty too because there is so many types of paper under the tree!

Anyway, I did makes some simple tags and a little holder for them! I think they turned out cute. I should use these for the extended families gifts...hmm...Here they are in their box.

Inky Friends: Inking Up the Season: Wise Men from Afar

Welcome! Another round of blog hopping with My Inky Friends! You may have come to me from Cindy showcasing Quilted Christmas or you could have found me through Rhonda displaying Night in Bethlehem. Either way works for me! We are all linked together so you can't get too lost but if you do, you can see the list of the blogs HERE.

I have been MIA lately from crafting and blogging. My daughter's marriage was a big deal and the school year has been interesting so far. (It's kicking my butt at the moment!) I was excited to be "forced" to create something for this hop! It came at the perfect time to get me back to my stamping room.

This first card isn't quite the way I pictured it but it still turned out nice. (I think the tree needs to be stamped on the white a little higher so you can see it more.) The card on the left has a plain background while the one on the right has Burlap stamped on it (as well as a smudge from my finger, UGH!). They both have Wink of Stella on the star and the gifts.

The second set of cards are rather plain in my opinion but I wasn't sure what to do to jazz them up. What would you do with them? Embossing folder? Background stamp? Ribbon? Rhinestones? I do like them otherwise! Fun thing, they were suppose to be the same but I was using scraps of the silver and the silver for the card of the left was just a bit too short to show up under the wisemen, so I lowered the banners. Not sure which way I like it best!

This last set of cards are very simple. I know that I need simple sometimes just to get some thing done! The differences between the Night of Navy cards and the Rich Razzleberry cards are minor. They feature different embossing folders, one set is silver the other gold and one has rhinestones, the other pearls.

That's what I came up with for this set. I know I had others ideas that I just couldn't get on paper in time for this hop. I also really want to make a set of scrapbook pages with this set too. I think the palms would make a great beach set of pages. Maybe I will have time soon!
