Seaside Notions 2

I love the ocean! Living in Wisconsin, I don't get to be at the ocean much. We have been blessed enough to be able to take a few vacations to the ocean.

Seaside Notions talked to me and I have had a great time creating with it. I have three cards here that make me want to jump on a plane and head to the ocean!

I used the new Seabed embossing folder on the Gray Granite panel, and Birch background on the Coastal Cabana panel. The shells and the sand dollar were stamped, water colored, fussy cut, adhered with dimensionals and Wink of Stella added.

Some masking helped create the layer of shells. To mask, I stamp the image I want in the forefront on some scrap paper and then fussy cut it out. I stamp the image on the card and lay the scrap paper cut out over the top and then stamp the other shells around the front image. If you took the ribbon off, this would be considered a #simplestamping project.

The last card for this post is a window of sorts, at least it reminds me of a window. The images were stamped, water colored and the Wink of Stella put on them.

Do you have a favorite place to vacation? Can you create something to remind you of that vacation spot? I hope you are able to make the best of the whatever situation you find yourself and create!

Happy Stampin'!

Forever Ferns 2

Forever Fern is such a versatile set. You can create for anyone and any occasion.

My first card could be a wedding card or a thinking of you card. I used Rich Razzleberry and Whisper White. Not a traditional color combination when you think of ferns and greenery but it turned out great! I used my Rich Razzleberry dark Blend to color the ribbon and added a few metallic pearls to finish it off.

I created the background for this card using the marker and block technique that I shared on a Facebook Live not too long ago. I used my clear block I and colored it with Mango Melody, Blushing Bride, Flirty Flamingo and Melon Mambo. Misted the block with some water and stamped that on my Whisper White cardstock. After that dried (I get impatient so I tend to dry it with my heat tool), I stamped the leaves with Garden Green ink. Stamp Hello, tie the linen thread around the panel and adhere. A couple of rhinestones and done!

This card was also created on a Facebook Live recently. The leaves are stamped on the Whisper White panel for the card with Mint Macaron. I stamped them on a scrap piece of cardstock and die cut it. I stamped the round leaves on a scrap piece of Whisper White with Rich Razzleberry and die cut that as well. The two die cuts were adhered with dimensionals. Stamp the words with Shaded Spruce, add a little bow and a couple of metallic pearls to complete this pretty card.

I have a hard time thinking outside of the box for colors with some stamp sets. I want to be traditional. When I don't worry about it and just stamp, I find that I am pleased with the outcome of my stamping session. It is still hard! I hope you are inspired to try some out of the box colors for some of these sets!
