Perfectly Plaid

A few years ago I started making a few Christmas cards every month. I liked creating them and I was all set in December to write in them and mail them off. I love how organize I feel when I have my Christmas cards all set.

I did make these in December but I have them stashed for next year as I didn't need them this year. Perfectly Plaid is still available in the main catalog, but the designer series papers are no longer available.

I am a traditional girl for many things so I like red and green together! This is a Cherry Cobbler base with Whisper White embossed with Winter Snow embossing folder. I used my dark Cherry Cobbler Blend marker to color the ribbon and the rhinestones. The tree and greeting are stamped with Shaded Spruce.

More Cherry Cobbler, this time paired with Mossy Meadow. The ribbon was colored with dark Mossy Meadow Blend.

Garden Green is the green of choice for this beauty. I used Very Vanilla for this card which is a change for me. I really like my white! I cut the designer series paper to 3/4" wide and adhered it to the top and bottom of my Crumb Cake panel. This way I wasn't "wasting" the paper by hiding all of it. I stamped the trees several times before re-inking to create the feel of the forest. I used Frost White shimmer paint to create the snow line at the bottom of the trees as well as the snowflakes. Yes, I fussy cut the pinecones.

How do you do your Christmas cards? A little each month? One design that you mass produce? All in the fall? I have done all of these to get my cards done. I hope I have inspired you to create!

Happy Stampin'!

Love these versions. I will start a stash for next year while I still have the papers out. That way I can use them for soldiers, seniors etc. Or keep them for myself to mail out.
