Another great color that Stampin' Up! added to the line up this past spring is Orchid Oasis. This is a bluish purple color that is different from every other color that we have.
I used a sale-a-bration stamp set from the July-August sale-a-bration period called Wonderful World stamps set. I used the makers for Orchid Oasis and Pear Pizzazz on the iris to get the two colors.
Friends are Like Seashells has been a favorite of mine since it came out. I LOVE the beach, shells, sunshine, sand, heat, salty air...hmm..just love it! I used the fill in stamps for the shells to create the background. I stamped them each several times in the three colors and then added the starfish, shell and sand dollar over the top.
I kept this card very simple. I stamped the lady and greeting with Orchid Oasis. I used a water painter to pull a little of the color from the stamped image on the hat and table. The Orchid Oasis cardstock is embossed with Timeworn Type embossing folder. The fact that this piece is cut on a diagonal makes it more striking.
While this color is around for another year, there are 5 colors that will be retiring soon. Everything that is in those colors will also be retiring.
