The Sweet Songbirds have been around for a while. I did purchase them some time ago and they sat on my shelf waiting patiently for me to pick them to play with. Well, they finally were picked! I had fun playing with them but they can be a little putzy because everything is its own stamp. This has its advantages and disadvantages.
Blueberry Bushel is the card base with a piece of Bright and Beautiful designer series paper layered on it. The strip is Blueberry Bushel too. I stamped the bird with Blueberry Bushel, Berry Burst and Daffodil Delight. I punched the bird with Decorative Circle punch.
Rays of Light stamped with Lemon Lolly ink on Lemon Lolly cardstock makes it look like a sunrise and the birdie is singing a morning song. The bird is punched with the Songbird Builder punch. The branch was fussy cut and the leaves were punched from Granny Apple Green cardstock with the Bough punch.
Lastly, I am sharing a fractured card. HERE is the Facebook Live video of me making this card but I will also give you the written step by step.
The base is Blueberry Bushel and the designer series paper is Bright and Beautiful. Cut and extra piece of Basic White at 5-1/4" x 4". This piece is what you build the front of the card onto. I die cut a 2" square from Basic White and laid that in the middle to start the layering. I then adhered 1/4" by 5-1/2" strips for cardstock all around the square. After the glue dried, cut the tails of the strip off. Take 2" x 3" pieces of the designer series paper and adhere into the spaces around the 1/4" strips. Allow the glue to dry and cut the excess paper off. Adhere to the card base and finish as desired.
My little Lemon Lolly songbird is so cheery and bright. Perfect for any celebratory occasion or for just a cheery note.
